Volunteers move our mission

Volunteers are our lifeblood and are needed for many opportunities. Opportunities are open for individuals, families, students, and groups. Your unique talent will help change lives, join our team today!

Learn more: communityrelations@daystarlife.com, or come to our next volunteer information session. Information sessions are held on the 1st Saturday at 10am and 3rd Monday of each month at 1:30am, excluding holidays.

We will be distributing essential supplies at Daystar tomorrow, Sunday, September 29th from 12pm-3pm. Please come to our center at 1055 28th Street South in South St. Pete if you've ben affected by Hurricane Helene and are in need of supplies.

We are currently collecting supplies to create relief kits for those affected by Hurricane Helene. Check the image for a list of supplies we're looking for. Donations can be dropped off at our center: 1055 28th Street South, St. Petersburg, FL 33712.

We are also collecting monetary donations to our disaster relief fund, which will directly support those in our community who need help. If you're able to give, please consider donating. Link in bio & on our story.

We're also in need of a volunteer truck driver to help transport relief supplies. If you're interested in driving our box truck, please email communityrelations@daystarlife.com.

Shoutout to the awesome group of volunteers from @Publix for making a HUGE impact at Daystar last week! 🙌

They sorted clothes in our clothing closet, organized the pantry, made sandwiches and lunch bags, and even got out into the community to hand out lunches! 🥪🍎

It was a fun and productive day, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their hard work and kindness. Thank you for helping us help others! 💚

If you are in need of shelter, seven Pinellas County public shelters are currently open. More locations will open on Thursday morning at 7am.

⚠️ Updated Hours for Wednesday, Sept 25th ⚠️

In preparation for the expected rain from Tropical Storm Helene, we’re adjusting our hours on Wednesday. Daystar will be open from 8 AM to 11 AM to ensure everyone has time to access the services they need before the storm. 🌧️ We'll be providing MREs (Meals Ready-To-Eat) and shelf-stable foods with our pantry service.

Please be prepared, stay safe, and take precautions as the weather develops.

Our food pantry farm excitedly welcomed 18 tomato and 18 eggplant seedlings that are already thriving! We couldn’t be more grateful.

Can you believe we’re just one month away from our Boowling for a Cause event?🎳 Time flies when you're planning something this fun!

Join us on Sunday, October 20th, at Ten Pin Lanes in South Pasadena, from 12pm-3pm. Costumes are encouraged! There will be prizes for best kids' costume and best adult costume.

Each ticket includes 3 games of bowling + rental shoes, snacks, drinks, a 50/50 raffle, and contests.

Every ticket sale supports our mission to end hunger in the community.

Tickets are $30 for adults, and $20 for kids (12 and under)

At our Fill-A-Truck event this past weekend, we collected 325lbs of food for our healthy food pantry! 👏 🙌

Thurston Groves' residents were amazing - we even received a donation from an adorable little dancer! Some neighbors who wanted to help but weren't able to be there, left donations out for us to swing by and pick-up.

However, our center will remain open for all other services from 9am to 3pm. This change applies to Mondays only!
